Elevating Curb Appeal: Retail Shopping Center Repaint in Austin, TX
A well-maintained and visually appealing exterior is essential for attracting customers and maintaining a professional image for retail properties.
In September 2024, CertaPro Painters® of Austin, TX, was entrusted with revitalizing a retail shopping center off West 6th Street.
The project aimed to create a cohesive, modern aesthetic while improving durability and safety.
Through expert preparation, high-quality coatings, and the use of specialized equipment, our team successfully transformed the shopping center’s exterior, delivering a refreshed and long-lasting finish.
Project Overview
Location: Austin, Texas
Date: September 2024
Duration: 1 week
Facility Type: Retail shopping center, located off of West 6th St.
CertaPro Painters® of Austin, TX, was contracted to revitalize the exterior of a retail shopping center, bringing a cohesive, modern aesthetic to the property. The project required expert surface preparation, precision painting, and the use of specialized coatings to enhance durability and safety.
Initial Condition & Challenges
Before painting, the exterior surfaces required extensive prep work to ensure optimal adhesion and longevity of the new coatings. The existing surfaces had multiple colors, creating an inconsistent appearance. Additionally, the property had areas with flaking paint, accumulated dust, and signs of rust.
To address these challenges, our team performed:
- Pressure Washing: Removed dirt, mildew, and loose paint.
- Rust Removal & Sanding: Ensured a smooth and clean surface for even paint application.
- Dusting & Surface Prep: Eliminated debris that could interfere with adhesion.
Project Execution
Painting & Coatings
Once the surfaces were properly prepped, our team applied a new, uniform color scheme to create a polished, cohesive look for the shopping center. Key areas included:
- Pillars: Painted with a black concrete base and floor trim.
- Exterior Walls & Signage: Updated to match the refreshed aesthetic.
- Anti-Slip Coating: Applied Shark Grip for enhanced traction and safety on designated areas.
Special Equipment Used
Given the height of certain sections, a boom lift was used to safely access and paint upper areas of the building.
Results & Impact
✔ Enhanced Curb Appeal: The retail center now features a sleek, modern look, making it more inviting to customers.
✔ Improved Safety: The addition of Shark Grip anti-slip coating enhances pedestrian safety.
✔ Long-Lasting Protection: Proper surface prep and high-quality coatings ensure durability against weather and wear.
The client was highly satisfied with the transformation, noting that the uniform color scheme created a more professional and appealing environment for both tenants and visitors.
