This preparation allows the coating system to bond properly, creating a smooth, long-lasting finish that resists peeling, chipping, and premature wear.

Updating your concrete floors is one of the most effective ways to improve both the appearance and functionality of your home or business. Decorative flake flooring adds texture, dimension, and durability while helping hide dirt, dust, and everyday wear. To further customize your floor, we offer six different flake size options.
Larger decorative flakes create a bold, highly textured appearance with more visual variation, making them popular for garages, workshops, and commercial spaces. Smaller flakes provide a finer, more uniform appearance that’s ideal for contemporary interiors and clean, modern aesthetics.

Every floor coating installation follows a detailed, multi-step process designed to maximize adhesion, durability, and long-term performance. While every project is unique, our proven installation process ensures consistent, high-quality results from start to finish.
Your project may vary depending on the condition of the concrete, the selected coating system, and the intended use of the space, but our experienced team will guide you through every step and keep you informed throughout the installation process. Proper preparation, professional application, and attention to detail are what allow our floor coating systems to perform beautifully for years to come.
The day begins with setting up a work area, including protection for walls and a staging area where products will be mixed and prepped.
Most projects require a grinding machine to be run across the concrete surfaces. The rough texture it leaves behind is needed for form a strong bond.
Cracks, dings, and dents are fixed prior to applying the first coating. It's important to complete this step to ensure an even surface on the final product.
The last step before we apply base coat is to clean the surface well with vacuums. Dust and debris needs to be eliminated to ensure proper adhesion.
A base coat is applied to the prepped concrete floor. The base coat is mixed in the staging area and quickly applied to the floor with rollers and squeegees.
The size and type of chip will have been determined during your initial estimate and quite. In this phase we broadcast chips across the base coat evenly.
After being left to dry, excess chips are scraped off the surface leaving only the strongly bonded chips that had direct contact with the base coat.
After scraping a lot of loose chips are usually left on the floor. We use an industrial vacuum to clean any excess or loose chips from the floor before applying a top coat.
The last step is to apply a clearcoat to the surface. Edges are usually done by hand and the rest are evenly spread with a squeegee. The surface is then left to let dry before being used.
CertaPro Painters® of Northwest Arkansas installs epoxy, polyaspartic, and polished concrete coating systems. Each suits different needs, and your estimator helps match the system to your space, traffic level, and the look you want.
Epoxy creates a durable, high-gloss finish that’s great for garages and general-use spaces. Polyaspartic is built for tougher conditions — high traffic, impacts, and abrasion — and holds up in demanding settings like cold storage, locker rooms, and even USDA-inspected food processing areas. Which one fits depends on how the floor gets used.
We coat garage floors, basements, patios, pool decks, driveways, sidewalks, interior floors, countertops, and commercial and industrial spaces. Nearly any sound interior or exterior concrete surface is a candidate once it’s properly prepped.
Floor coatings are installed in multiple layers and each needs time to cure, so the surface has to fully set before use. Your team will tell you exactly when it’s ready to walk on and drive on — and quality systems like these are built to resist common problems such as hot-tire pickup once fully cured.
These floors are made to take spills, stains, heavy traffic, UV exposure, water, high impact, and extreme weight while keeping a showroom finish. With proper care, a professionally installed coating can last for decades.
Yes — options include decorative flake in hundreds of colors and six flake sizes, metallic epoxy for a marble-like look, quartz with anti-slip properties for pool decks and patios, natural wood chips, and even custom decals for a logo or team. Your estimator walks you through the choices during the quote.
It depends on the size and condition of the concrete, prep and crack repair needed, the coating system chosen, and any custom finishes. Because those vary a lot, an on-site estimate is more accurate than a general per-square-foot figure — and estimates are free.
